Poor Man's Microphone Shockmount

The original shockmount for this mic can reach $200 here in Indonesia, so spending some time to create the DIY version of this crucial accessory is quite worthy, if it works. And yes at first i thought it won't help at all. And yes it also looks ugly. But after running some tests... The look isn't that silly anymore.

What i use here is a bottle holder and the thickest hair rubber i could find on a store nearby.

Creating Bass Samples

My friend let his beautiful deluxe jazz bass laying around my house for some days. So i decided to create audio samples for later use. In a drum session, if there's time left, I used to create one shots from them, for backups, and also for sampling purpose.

But creating bass samples notes by notes, touch by touch, is a different story. It's quite frustating to manage all of the audio files, program them into a sampler plugin, and adjust them to sound as natural as possible.

So, If you can't afford a pricey bass, or a good sounding bass VSTi, i think this long process is worth it.
